Rachel Carter Ceramics

With a studio nestled in the trees of Auckland’s Titirangi rainforest, Rachel Carter creates her signature pieces. Throwing, turning, glazing and firing daily, Rachel’s work is based around thoughtful, considered pieces which are refined and elegant, yet designed for everyday use.

With a keen eye, Rachel’s passion in her surroundings influences her bespoke glazes – a reflection of the natural, organic look and feel of the environment around her.

We share Rachel’s intention for her work to bring a calm beauty to their environment, so the opportunity for her to create a purposeful, poetic ceramic vessel for our Waxed Perfume in Tui & Kahili was a perfect fit.

Kate Brouwer of Asobimasu Clay

Kate Brouwer is the creative craftswoman behind Melbourne-based Asobimasu Clay, a creative studio where a range of playful vessels, tableware and often sculptural ceramics take shape.

A core focus of Asobimasu Clay is sustainability and durability. A real reflection of Australia, Kate uses only local materials, including regionally sourced clay. All waste materials are recovered, recycled and then created into new works.

The word Asobimasu is of Japanese origin, meaning ‘to play’. Kate’s practice allows her ‘to create without boundaries’ and we are thrilled to see what she’s created - a unique ceramic home for our Waxed Perfume in our most-loved fragrance, Tui & Kahili.
